One good thing in beeing in Australia, in your case, is that you have a vast wildlife to photo ... i'd love to be there tbh to you to make a sort of a trip to savage areas and get looooads pictures from there, even the sunset wouldn't be let aside hehehe Insects there have tremendly wonderfull colours, like butterflys and so on. One good thing is if you buy a lens lets say a 100mm or 150mm, but don't buy lower than f/2.8 because is a waste of money neither higher than that because its a crap (too slow). After that ... ohhh its "shoooooow time"
